Overview of Services

The NMR Core houses three Bruker NMR instruments at 800, 500 and 400 MHz proton frequencies. These instruments operate with state-of-the-art TopSpin™ software running in either Windows® or Linux CentOS environment. The higher field, 800 MHz, spectrometer equipped with ultrahigh sensitive 5 mm triple resonance TCI 1H-13C/15N/D CryoProbe with automatic tuning and matching accessory and a sample positioning system has been used primarily by internal principal investigators for the purpose of macromolecular structure determination and structure elucidation of secondary metabolites with limited sample availability of plant and microorganism origin. The two lower filed, 500 and 400 MHz, spectrometers equipped with probes suitable for a broad span of analytical applications were employed to support various medicinal chemistry projects executed within the Conrad Prebys Center and the Medicinal Chemistry Core as well as routine studies of secondary metabolite extracts from plant and microorganism origin.
